TPR Events are thrilled to announce the Tour De Broads Winter Challenge Series. These challenges are designed to build up your mileage over the winter months to be strong and ready for the Summer Tour De Broads and our other events in 2022.
Winter Challenge #1 – 25 miles – 5 December 2021
Winter Challenge #2 – 35 miles – 2 January 2022
Winter Challenge #3 – 50 miles – 30 January 2022

Description
The Tour De Broads Winter Challenge Series has been designed to kickstart your training in preparation for your summer of sportive challenges. A fully supported and signed cycle event every 4 weeks with increasing mileage each time you take part. We challenge you to complete 3 different distances over the winter starting at 25 miles on 5th December, 35 on 2nd January and then up to 50 miles 4 weeks later on 30th January.
Upon your return to the event village, you will receive a warm welcome, bespoke medal and a warming cup of soup and a roll.
We strongly urge you to ride with lights fitted to your bike.

Event Date – 2 January 2022, 11am

Route Distance – 35 Miles

Winter Challenge No. 3
Event Date – 30 January 2022, 11am
Location – Whitlingham Country Park
Route Distance – 50 Miles
Winter riding at its best.
Should any event be cancelled due to weather conditions, it will revert to a virtual sportive whereby you ride anytime that month, anywhere and complete the challenge distance. Submit your ride to us via email and you will receive your medal in the post, together with a voucher to use on future events.
Weather reports are monitored closely on the run up to the event, which will go ahead as planned provided conditions are within tolerance –
Our tolerances are:
Torrential rain, Flooding
Electrical storm, Gales.
wind speed > 40 mph
temperature < 3 degrees
visibility < 5m
Initial warning of possible cancellation on Friday, 6pm. Final call on Saturday morning, 10am
A decision will be made by the operational management team if the weather creates too great a risk for the event to proceed, participants will be contacted via email and social media.
